Winter Count 2016
For the last seven years I have made a Winter count. A collage with 12 photos from the previous year. One photo per month. The Adventure of the Cardboard Box was of course a part of my photo year 2016. Golfing in February doesn't happen every year in my part of the world. Batman vs Superman was a big movie for a lot of people in 2016. Early Spring gets a lot of photographers out looking for Anemones. The only pop star I met during the year was from Rednex. This was a first. Cornflowers turning a field blue near the old tree. The Summer was colorful. I met a future author. The annual visit to the Vegabaren Greaser meet is always a highlight in August. For the second year running I met Marla Kay at Sundby Gård. An impromptu photo shoot with a world class cyclist in October. My latest 12-month series, a pier at the Rudan nature reserve. I have aimed the camera at the water towers a few times in the last year. This was a December sunset.

Cykelväder
One of the morning papers are making a list with the most beautiful Swedish words. Everyone could join in. Since it's raining and I can't go for a bike ride I added the word Cykelväder. Or in English bike-weather. Maybe that will help to change the weather! Here is a collage of recent snaps of cyclists.

streetcollage
Theme Day. People on the street. In my book that can only mean portraits of people on the street with their own unique styles. Like these group of trendy people I have met in and around Haninge in the last few years. Meet Sandra, Kimmy and Ellinor. Anthon, Kim and Emil. Tove, Alex and Mary. I'm currently in bed with a Russian virus, but hopefully I will soon be out on the street again looking for new street portraits.

Winter Biking
Grace Down Under in Perth wanted me to get the bike out. Krille in Karlstad wanted me to have one week of bicycle related posts. That didn't happen as I posted a non-bicycle related photo yesterday, but you will both be happy to know that I did go for a bike ride today. It was a bit chilly, around -6C and windy, but with a blue sky. Shot this collage along the bike path/walkway at Krigslida near the commuter station.

Portraits of 2013
Theme Day. Photo of the year. A very easy decision. The photo of the year was of course the portrait. The tricky thing is to pick the best one. I couldn't do that so here is a collage with most of the faces you met here on the blog during 2013. You can also see them on the gadget to the right, I will leave that running for a few weeks.

Malmen's Cafe
It is possible that the outdoor season is over at my favorite cafe, Malmens konditori for this year. But I did enjoy a mug of coffee in the Autumn shade there yesterday, so you never know. Here is a collage of some previously unpublished snaps from my 2012 visits. If you read this blog on a weekly basis you will have met a few of this people. They include the blue eyed babe Anna. The posing couple is Fredde and his girlfriend, the Ultra marathon runner. The dude on the old bike is local legend Tompa Eken.

Hardcore Exercise
Biking towards home yesterday a woman on roller skis flew by me in Jordbro. I caught up with her a little later and realised that it was Emmy Thelberg, one of the best mountain bike riders in the country. She was on her way to a gravel pit where she was going to run up a sandy hill ten times! That sounded like a photo-op to me, so I decided to tag along, as it gave me an opportunity to test the Tamron zoom lens. Since we last met Emmy has had some success in her sport. She won the Långloppscupen, the long distance cup. She won Bronze in the National Championships. She competed in the the Birkebeiner cycling race, the world's largest mountain-bike race that takes place annually in Norway.

collage

There was an open house in Handen today because of Earth Hour. I visited City Hall and listened to a music concert performed by the young students from the Haninge Music School. A few organisations were at hand to inform about easy ways to save energy. The woman in the collage is Karin who runs a environmental blog called Karins Miljöblogg. She handed out an Everyday Green Ideas questionnaire that I forgot to fill in. You could travel in style between City Hall and the Cultural Centre. With horse power if you were a kid, and with pedal power if you were a bit older. The guy on the rickshaw is Josef. He runs a company called Euro Rikshaw. I thought he looked familiar and sure enough I have a photo of him taken in Stockholm a few years ago.
