Who wants to go skinny dipping?
Don't you just want to run out onto the pier and jump into the lake for a refreshing swim? Of course you do. Go for it!

Root System
The Lower Lake at the Rudan nature reserve earlier this week. This cliff is normally popular with anglers, but not on this gloomy Autumn day, so I had to make do with shooting the roots of the Scots pine that grows close to the water.

A Traquil Day At The Lakes
I stopped for a light lunch at the lakes at the Rudan nature reserve today. Warm and sunny, no wind at all. A fine Autumn day.

First Day of Summer
Summer is here. It arrived yesterday. At least if you count June, July and August as Summer. This is the tiny beach at Upper Lake Rudan in Handen. There's a bigger beach at the other end of the lake. The first day of Summer day started with hard rain for a few hours. That was followed by hard winds so it was no surprise to find the beach empty, but hey, it's a start!

A Little Tarn Madame's pixie cup
Tornberga, (the hill with the tower), was made a nature reserve a few years ago. This little tarn a hundred meters from the top of the hill is known as Tornbergasjön. I used to come here as a kid with my parents. It was always fun balancing on the foot-bridges. Back then there was a tower on the hill. In fact there used to be two towers. At 111 meters above sea level it is the highest point on Södertörn. During WWII my paternal grandfather sat in one tower spying for foreign war planes. As a teenager I visited the tarn with my friends. We used to camp here and sing songs by the open fire at night. Both towers are long gone, but a new one will be built here this year. Hopefully you will be able to see both the archipelago and Stockholm from the new tower. Walking in the wetland at the tarn I found this kochenillav, or Red pixie cup, (lichen), growing in the bryophyte. It's a only a few millimeter wide. Obviously it began to rain the second I started shooting.

A Grey Day At Little Lake
A grey December day at little lake in Jordbro. Compared to a Calm Day in August. Looks like we will have a grey Christmas this year. No snow in sight.

Misty Day
It started to rain yesterday morning. When the rain stopped I took the bike for a spin. When I arrived to one of the lakes at the Rudan nature reserve the mist started rolling in.

Summer Ends This was the sky at Lower Lake Rudan yesterday. Summer clouds and a blue sky. I stopped by the cafe and it was nice to sit outside enjoying a mug of coffee and some conversation. Today it is another story. Autumn arrived with grey skies, strong winds and non-stop rain. Skywatch Friday.

Im @ d lake, whr r you?

The Redhead and the Blonde

Two photos from a recent visit to one of the lakes at Rudan. I'm calling the first one: Im @ d lake, whr r you? I sat down next to the girls on the second photo while shooting some photos of a couple of fishers. I then asked the girls if I could shoot a portrait of them, but they turned me down. The blonde said that she preferred to be behind the camera. So I told them that I might take one or two candid portraits from the path and that was fine with them.

Autumn vs. Winter

As you know by now I always return for another photo to some of my favorite places in Haninge. So this might look familiar to you. A red cottage overlooking Upper Lake Rudan in Handen. I shot the Autumn half of the diptych in October of last year. The winter side of the photo is how the red cottage looked yesterday.
